TUBA CITY, Ariz. — Tuba City High School Career and Technical Education (CTE) Director Woody Begay beamed with pride as his students took top honors for welding, digital photography, carpentry and job skills at the annual Native skills competition held in Chinle.
Two of the students are under the direct mentorship of Maria Goatcher, director of the Tuba City High School ‘s dual enrollment program partnership with Coconino Community College in Flagstaff, Arizona, for early childhood development.
Two of Goatcher’s advanced ECE students, Glenice Pesodas and Kristina Blackhair, both seniors at Tuba City High School, took first place in the job skills— demonstration category.
