Teachers know what’s right for kids. If we don’t drive the conversation, who will?

My brother and I are only one year apart in age, yet our educational journeys have been completely different. My brother did not graduate high school and was the victim of a broken education system that failed to recognize his strengths and neglected to provide him with the tools to succeed. He fell through “the cracks” and spent what would have been his senior year in a correctional facility. My brother’s experience made it very clear to me that I had to do something to empower youth and help detour the school to prison pipeline that holds too many kids captive.
