Williams schools losing up to $185,000 in forest fees. See more education stories here

Williams Unified School District is one of several districts seeing a withering of federal support this year because of the failure of Congress to reauthorize the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act in 2015 (SRS). 

The act, distributed by the Department of Agriculture, compensated schools and the county for lost property tax revenue because of a decline in traditional timber harvesting.

Every year thousands of youth take part in the National Science Challenge focusing on important STEM topics and issues. This year’s 4-H NYSD event will take place on October 4, 2017. This year’s challenge: Incredible Wearables. The Incredible Wearables kit is a fun way for kids to build wearable fitness trackers!
