Education Spotlight: Lights On Afterschool Future Leaders Town Hall to be held Oct. 24 at CCC. See more local education news here

The Arizona Center for Afterschool Excellence (AzCASE) is working with Arizona Town Hall to carry out three Future Leaders Town Hall (FLTH) events in Maricopa, Pinal and Coconino counties. The Future Leaders Town Hall in Flagstaff, to be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, is being organized in a partnership with Coconino County, LAUNCH Flagstaff and the venue sponsor Coconino Community College.

With these events the hope is to bring attention to the value of out-of-school time programming as a significant component on the Future Leaders Town Hall topic of Strong Families Thriving Children.

The eighth annual Coconino County 2020 Teacher of the Year and Rookie Teacher of the Year Award nominations are open.

The awards are a countywide celebration that honors and recognizes full- time teachers. 

The Coconino County Education Service Agency invites the public to nominate outstanding teachers in Coconino County. Nomination forms can be found on the Superintendent’s website at www.coconino.az.gov/celebrate. Nominations must be received by 5 p.m. on Nov. 5.

Northern Arizona College Night to be held at Flagstaff High School on Oct. 25

Flagstaff High School will once again present the Northern Arizona Region College Night from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25 at the FHS Commons.

This is the 14th year for this informative event that is open to the entire Northern Arizona area and all grade levels.

Learn about the various post-secondary options available, including 4-year, 2-year, trade school, military, scholarships and financial aid.
