As another week rolls by, another teacher is highlighted for their work in the classroom. Eugene Brosseau, an art teacher at the Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy (FALA), is our Teacher of the week, and NAZ Today’s Justin Dubail was there to speak with him. Brosseau got his love for the arts in high school, where he was inspired by his art teacher, and encouraged to go into the field of being an educator.

“When a road is blocked off or is jammed up – as happens often in this town – we may have to go around,” graduating student Richie Szopinski said to about 80 fellow graduates at Coconino Community College’s first commencement ceremony Friday morning.”Sure, it may take us a bit longer, and we may not like it initially, but we should never underestimate it. Who knows, you might just find something out about yourself that you might never have if you had taken the alternate route,” he said.

FALA, Thomas Elementary teachers take top educator honors at 2019 Viola Awards

Rich Krueger of the Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy (FALA) received the Excellence of Science Award during the 2019 Viola Awards, presented March 2 at the High Country Conference Center. Kathy Marron of Thomas Elementary School in Flagstaff received the Excellence in Arts Education Award.
