HEAL: Helping Empower all Learners June 6 – 7, 2023, Summer Conference
Educators and staff are invited to attend our second annual conference supporting educator and student mental wellness. The HEAL conference content is focused on mental health and well-being for students and staff to help them students academically. Learning strands include historical trauma, engaging and empowering families, student agency in learning, culture of achievement, trauma informed practices, educating students with anxiety, student supports and services, and staff supports. Deepen your knowledge and skills with content experts and practitioners.

Education Spotlight — Coconino County Education Service Agency Hosts Crisis Intervention Workshop for County Schools Oct. 12-14. See more local, state and national education news here
The Coconino County Education Service Agency (CCESA) joined community partners and county schools to form a Coconino County School Incident Response Team.
CCESA, Yavapai Education Service Agency, Arizona Department of Education, and county schools met October 12 – 14, 2022, to engage in crisis prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery to traumatic events at Coconino County schools. Team members also received training in a Crisis Intervention Curriculum that addressed crisis prevention and intervention at schools.
“This program is a school safety and crisis preparedness curriculum developed by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP),” stated Coconino County Superintendent Cheryl Mango-Paget. “This evidence-based training provided school personnel with comprehensive training on how to establish and serve on school safety and crisis response teams. The training provided to schools reinforces improved school climate, student behavior and academic functioning, student resilience, and school staff crisis response capabilities.”

To safeguard against COVID-19 and the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus, the Coconino County Education Service Agency (CCESA) has made the decision to postpone the much anticipated 2020 Teacher of the Year and Rookie Teacher of the Year Celebration. Currently, we are working with venues on securing a date in early August. Once we have a date, we will make an announcement.
Professional Development 2017-2018

If so, the Coconino County Education Service Agency (CCESA) continues to offer comprehensive professional development that aligns with state standards; emphasizes content knowledge and practical strategies for applying that knowledge; provides opportunities for teachers to collaborate with each other; and provides opportunities for active learning and engagement.
Coconino County Education Service Agency provides November update
The Coconino County Education Service Agency provided information on continuing education courses for its educators throughout the county in its November 2016 newsletter.
Updates were also provided on Social Studies & Science Standards which are under review and suggestions for parents on helping their children with their math homework.
