Charlie Duke, the 10th and youngest person to ever walk on the moon, will be the W.L Gore & Associates keynote speaker at the opening of the 10-day Flagstaff Festival of Science. Duke, who served as the Apollo 16 lunar module pilot in 1972, trained in Flagstaff with other Apollo astronauts, maneuvering a lunar rover prototype over rough volcanic terrain and in and out of a simulated crater field north of the city.

… CCC&Y, which will once again present its STEAM-themed Early Childhood Fair during the science festival and will take an active part in the festival planning this year with the addition of Executive Director Virginia Watahomigie as a festival board member.
