Students, community leaders share their vision for Flagstaff in 2050

High school students and local leaders discussed issues like population growth, city infrastructure and urban sprawl at the annual Advanced Placement Academy symposium and panel discussion at Flagstaff High School Thursday night.

The symposium theme was “Flagstaff 2050: A Vision for the Future,” and featured City Councilwoman Eva Putzova as the keynote speaker and as a panelist to discuss issues facing Flagstaff in the upcoming years, and how residents and leaders can begin working on solutions.

“The city council sets the policy at the local level,” Putzova said in her opening remarks. “It’s not just roads and water lines, though on the surface it may seem that way. It’s about people.”
