Students will first identify threats to local ecosystems and then propose solutions to help preserve, protect, or repair those natural resources. 10 finalist teams will join EarthEcho International in Washington, DC, where they will present their ideas to restore or protect local biodiversity. The top three teams will be awarded grants to turn their projects into a reality.
[Webinar] The STEM Effect
March 25, 2020 @ 11 AM Pacific
Join The STEM Effect team for a webinar as they discuss creative approaches to better understand the mid- and long-term impacts of informal STEM programs for girls, and methods for measuring them.
The STEM Effect project is a collaborative effort led by the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, the Education Development Center, and the National Girls Collaborative Project. The team engaged cultural organizations around the United States to synthesize their experiences and approaches with the existing research literature on girls in STEM, identify and refine a set of research and questions and best practices, examine the roadblocks to research, and find opportunities and capacities for gathering and analyzing data needed to understand mid- and long-term impact.
