Flagstaff Lunar Legacy Celebration – Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first lunar landing and learn about Flagstaff’s role in this historic event! Activities kick off
Friday, July 20th, with a launch party at the
Orpheum, 5:00pm-10:30
pm.
STEM City will be there showcasing the
Engineering Space Gloves Curriculum that we have been working on with the
USGS Astrogeologists, the
Center for Science Teaching and Learning at NAUand the
Museum of Science Boston’s Engineering is Elementary group. Come create your own space glove from 5:30 to 7:30 pm! Additional events and lectures will be happening in and around Flagstaff through the fall. Coming up soon:
– Saturday, July 21st 7:30pm-9:00pm – Movies on the Square presents 2001: A Space Odyssey
– Wednesday, August 8th 6:00pm-7:30pm, Coconino Community College – Lunar Legacy Lecture Series – Lowell Observatory historian Kevin Schindler will share the story of the Apollo astronauts training trip to Flagstaff.
