STC Job Posting – AZ Early Steps Program Specialist Position

Job position with Save the Children for an Early Steps Program Specialist, based out of Flagstaff, is available.

Save the Children’s Early Steps to School Success serves 5 Native American communities in AZ.  There are 2 programs on the Navajo Nation, one in Chinle and the other in Ganado.  These programs are about 40 minutes apart geographically.  Near Fountain Hills, AZ they have 2 programs which serve the Yavapai Nation and these 2 Coordinators share an office and serve a small community of families living on the reservation.  In San Carlos, AZ they have 1 program serving the Apache community.

Each of these Early Steps programs partner with a school or early childhood center.  The Coordinators are hired by the educational partner and all Coordinators are Native American.  The vacant Early Steps to School Success Program Specialist position would involve providing face-to face monthly contact with each partner to provide training and technical assistance in concepts involving but not limited to the art of home visiting, early childhood developmental information, management of budgets and data entry and strengthening community and state partnerships.
