Hundreds of student projects filled the Sinagua Middle School gym, detailing different events, people and organizations that the students decided represented a moment when someone took a stand in history.

Social studies teacher Veronica Villegas got the school involved in National History Day, a nationwide contest where students present a research project related to that year’s topic. Sinagua has participated in the contest for the last six years, and students have advanced to regional and state competitions.
