Science Foundation Ariz., Intel, Gov. Ducey unveil STEM program aimed at Native Americans

Science Foundation Arizona, Intel Corp. and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey are announcing a new initiative today to provide STEM education to Native Americans in the state.
The Code Writers Education Initiative will be announced during the Window Rock celebration of the 70th anniversary of the ending of World War II and Navajo Code Talker Day.
In 1942, Navajo Code Talkers created an unbreakable code that helped the Allied Forces bring about the end of World War II.
This new science, technology, engineering and math public-private STEM education outreach initiative is geared toward helping the next generation of Navajo students.
The three-year, $2.5 million program is bringing together business, philanthropy, education and government to create a technology-based K-12 education curriculum.
