safeTALK Training Comes to Winslow

Native Americans for Community Action in partnership with Winslow Police Department invite you to attend safeTALK, a three – hour training that prepares anyone over the age of 15 to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources.

The safeTALK training is scheduled for Friday, December 13th, 2013 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and is limited to 25 participants.

Learn the signs to help identify someone who might be having thoughts of suicide.

As a safeTALK -trained suicide alert helper, you will be better able to:

  •   Move beyond common tendencies to miss, dismiss or avoid suicide
  •   Identify people who have thoughts of suicide
  •   Apply the TALK steps (Tell, Ask, Listen and KeepSafe) to connect a person with suicide thoughts to suicide first aid, intervention caregivers
