Poll: Most support higher taxes to fund schools

Nearly two-thirds of Arizonans, including more than 50 percent of Republicans, would be willing to pay an additional $200 in state taxes annually to better fund K-12 education, according to a new poll.
The poll, released Tuesday by the Morrison Institute for Public Policy and the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, asked 754 Arizonans where they thought the state Legislature should rank 11 priorities, from K-12 education to health care coverage to prisons.
