On behalf of the entire board of directors, I am proud and excited to announce Siman Qaasim as the next President and CEO of Children’s Action Alliance.  After an extensive and thorough selection process, the board unanimously chose Siman for her dynamic leadership and demonstrated passion to improve children’s health, education, and security.

Over the last three years, Siman led CAA’s health policy initiatives to key victories, such as protecting KidsCare for 35,000 children in Arizona and building powerful advocacy forces to protect the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid coverage for children. Siman brings twenty years of professional experience in community-based health and human service initiatives in a variety of settings. Before joining CAA, she served eight years at the Maricopa County Department of Public Health, where she was the administrator for the Office of School Health and Wellness Initiatives and the Office of Health Promotion and Education.

Siman’s career has taken her all over the world, from international policy in Washington, D.C. to the Bahamas as an assistant director of health and safety for a large private company, to volunteering in Tanzania with Maasai communities.

Siman has been recognized by her colleagues as an advocate for community-driven strategies and a driver of innovative change. She was awarded the Phoenix Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award and is an alumnus of Valley Leadership. Siman holds a bachelor of arts degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C. and a master’s in business administration from Nova Southeastern University in Florida.

Building on the unparalleled legacy and leadership of Dana Wolfe Naimark and her exceptional staff, the Board is thrilled to have Siman’s leadership for advancing the work of Children’s Action Alliance and the Arizona Center for Economic Progress for Arizona’s children and families. We greatly appreciate your partnership with us in the past and look forward to this continuing under our new leadership.

Please welcome Siman Qaasim as she becomes President and CEO of Children’s Action Alliance effective September 3.
