‘Pinwheels of Hope’ among number of Child Abuse Prevention information events in region

April-16The Williams Child Abuse Prevention Council will present its second annual “Pinwheels of Hope” at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16 at North Country Healthcare, 301 S. 7th St., Williams.

“Come celebrate the lives of the amazing children who live in Williams and remember the 75 Arizona children who died last year do to child abuse and neglect,” the council reported. “Together we can end child abuse and neglect!”

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.

However, activities began early with the annual “Field of Hope” display at the Coconino County Courthouse Lawn on March 30. Sponsored by the Exchange Club of Flagstaff and Alpine Adoption, the theme this year is “Planting the Seeds of Awareness.” A dedication ceremony was presented on April 1. The Coconino Coalition for Children & Youth then presented its annual Child Abuse Prevention luncheon and conference at the DoubleTree by Hilton on March 31. More than 200 people registered for the luncheon, along with 50 individuals registering for the day-long conference. Click here to see courtesy photos form the event.
