Opinion: 3 Arizona education bills to watch

As an educator, parent and citizen of Arizona, I would like to encourage all Arizonans to closely read and consider the implications of three education proposals:

HB 2246 would give parents the opportunity to opt their child out of the new AzMERIT statewide assessment to measure Arizona College and Career Ready Standards…

HB 2232 would increase tax-credit donations. This bill would further increase the gap between wealthier districts and districts that are struggling because of a low tax base or districts in rural Arizona that already trail in funding…
