Next CASA Virtual Academy training to be held July 22, 23
COCONINO COUNTY — The next CASA Virtual Academy training for those interested in becoming a CASA volunteer will be held July 22, 23.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are compassionate adults who fight for and protect a child’s right to be safe, to be treated with dignity and respect, and to learn and grow in the security of a loving family. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for a child’s best interests. They stay with the child until their case is closed and they reach a safe, permanent home. Volunteers work with legal and child welfare professionals, educators and others to ensure that judges have all the information they need to make potentially life-changing decisions for each child.
