NAU joins effort to produce more STEM teachers

Northern Arizona University has joined a nationwide effort to increase the number of science, technology, engineering and math teachers in U.S. schools.

In late January, NAU’s Center for Science Teaching and Learning was accepted into 100Kin10, an elite, nonprofit network of 230 educators, government agencies, corporations, nonprofits and foundations committed to a single goal.

“The point of being in the network is that you are making a commitment to contribute to that goal of producing 100,000 new (K through 12) STEM teachers in 10 years,” said Pradeep “Max” Dass, director of the Center for Science Teaching and Learning.
