| May 13, 2016

MNA Youth FestCalling all kids! Join us for a fun-filled Saturday as we celebrate children from across the Colorado Plateau and beyond at this multi-cultural event.

The Museum of Northern Arizona will present its inaugural Youth Fest from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 14 at 3101 N. Fort Valley Road, Flagstaff.

Experience the artistry of the Hopi Canyon Warriors, Pinon Dancers, Ballet Folklorico de Colores, Flagstaff Powwow Dancers, and the rhythms of Hopi-Tewa singer/songwriter and MNA artist-in-residence Ed Kabotie. Also, enjoy storytelling, face painting, games and crafts.

Two new exhibitions will be on view. When We Were Young: The Legacy of MNA’s Junior Indian Art Show features past and more recent work by noted Native American artists. A photo exhibit of Zuni, Hopi, Navajo, and Latino Heritage Festival Program youth performers will hang in the Katherin L. Chase Gallery.

End the day by helping us celebrate Discovery Camps’ birthday with cake, ice cream, and 40 years of memories.

Were you a Discovery Program participant? Please share a photo with us for display during the festival by emailing jglennon@musnaz.org.
