“Maximize Communication with Children with Special Needs”

“Maximizing Communication with Children with Special Needs” provides evidence-based practices that will help you better communicate with kids in your program.You will review strategies and communication behaviors of youth with special needs (at every level of communication ability), and learn how to implement social interaction planning tools to help you better communicate and interact.Each session is 3 hours long, and fulfills DHS training requirements in the area of Growth and Development. The cost to attend is $30.00.

The next training will be held on Tuesday, February 25th, from 9am-12pm at the Flagstaff Unified School District Family Resource Center (4000 N. Cummings St, Flagstaff AZ).

The presenter of this training is Amy M. Maschue, a certified speech-language pathologist (SLP) who has been working with Arizona children for over 15 years. She has worked as a clinician and supervisor in several settings, including center-based programs and schools. Amy evaluates and provides therapy for children ages 0-18, and specializes in helping children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other communication difficulties become effective communicators.
