Literacy Strategies in Arizona

| February 21, 2014

On March 3-6 the Arizona Center for Afterschool Excellence will be offering a workshop on literacy strategies for after school.  The College and Career Ready Standards are here, and out-of-school time programs can play an important role in helping kids meet them. Attend to learn how to integrate this critical new tool into your program, and help kids have fun while building their reading skills. Participants in this workshop will receive training on what the Common Core/College and Career Ready standards are, how they affect youth’s classroom curriculum, and how out-of-school time programs can reinforce reading comprehension and overall literacy through these fun activities. They will also receive step-by-step guidance on how to implement several of the 50 activities in the strategy guide, as well as information on how to access and successfully teach the remaining activities.
