Legislative Wrap-Up: Education Impact

The Legislature finished their 2016 regular session (sine die) on Saturday, May 7 at 5:45 a.m. after a 117-day session.

While there is still much work to be done to ensure every Arizona student receives a world-class education, we should be proud of the progress we’ve made together this year. For the first time in seven years, the state budget doesn’t cut K-12 education. Assuming Prop 123 passes, the budget provides increases to per pupil spending and includes resources to support student growth. It also holds schools harmless as they transition to Current Year Funding.
