Director of Shelter and Housing Services

  • General Description: The Director of Shelter and Housing Services is responsible for the consistent achievement of the objectives of the FSS shelter, coordinated entry, overflow, rehousing programs, including developing, directing and evaluating these and new programs. Additionally as programming is created, Director of Shelter and Housing Services will be responsible for helping to cultivate new funding to sustain program. He/she oversees the Housing Case Managers, Front Door Specialist, and additional program staffing and the delivery of services to homeless and re-housed individuals with the primary goal of achieving sustainable housing stability. This is a Full Time Exempt position and salary is based on experience and education. FSS is an EOE.
  • Qualifications: A Masters degree in human services field required or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Experience as a leader and experience in program management, development and evaluation and case management required. Experience working in homeless services preferred. The employee must also have the ability to develop positive working relationships with a diverse population and handle crisis situations. Good communication and organization skills are also required.

Housing Case Manager

  • General Description: Performs case work duties and does related work as required that supports the mission of FSS. Bachelor’s degree is preferred for the Housing Case Manager position.  Relevant experience working with people experiencing homelessness is mandatory.  A Masters in Social Work or related field a plus. This is a Full Time Exempt position and salary is based on experience and education.  FSS is an EOE.

Shelter Coordinator

  • The Coordinator at Flagstaff Shelter Services has a responsibility to meet the basic needs of those clients staying at the shelter. These obligations include the following:
    • Provide a safe environment;
    • Promote fair and consistent treatment;
    • Maintain a clean and healthy building;
    • Create a professional environment free from racism, sexual harassment, prejudice, and other offensive behavior;
    • Establish “professional only” relationships with clients.
