Income disparity must be part of school funding debate

For every success we have championed in Arizona education in 2015, we can point to a greater issue that has yet to be discussed seriously: income disparity among our students.
Although many believe that Proposition 123 is a step in the right direction in funding our schools, it will not fix the long lasting effects of income disparity on a child’s individual success. After all, isn’t that the whole point of public school education: to give each individual student an equal chance to succeed?
