FLAGSTAFF, AZ (November 12, 2016)– Girls on the Run of Northern Arizona (GOTRNA) will host their annual 5k event—a celebration of and for the girls who are completing a three month season of Girls on the Run programming.
“The celebratory 5k is an important part of the GOTR experience. The event gives the girls a tangible sense of achievement; they set a goal and they reach it! We are very excited this fall to be adding the Hall of Heroes to our Healthy Living Expo. At this event girls will meet accomplished women from Northern Arizona who will inspire them to achieve their career goals.” said Marney Babbitt, Council Director.

About Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run® was established in 1996 in Charlotte, North Carolina with the help of thirteen brave girls. Flagstaff was lucky enough to gain a council in 2008 (GOTRNA) and since then has inspired girls all over Northern Arizona! Girls on the Run, a program of North Country HealthCare, is a physical activity program that inspires 3rd through 8th grade girls! The 10-week Girls on the Run program focuses on helping girls develop key life skills, such as cultivating confidence, responding to oneself and others with care and creating positive connections. The teams also learn the value of giving back to their community through a service project. Each season culminates with a 5k event that celebrates girls’ growth during the season.
