CANstruction – a building competition – all ages welcome – August 1st
The 2015 CANstruction Competition
Get a team together to participate in a friendly food drive competition! Start collecting cans now!
- When: Saturday, August 1st, 2015
- Where: HomeCo Lumber & Hardware
- Can Collection Start: June 1st, 2015
- Cost: $100 per team (SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE)
- 10 people max per team
- Sponsorships of the registration fees are available for youth groups or others.
- Canned food drives are the responsibility of each team.

Competition Rules:
Food Drive Criteria:
- Each team will be responsible for storing the non-perishable gathered food in a place of their choosing starting June 1st and collection end the day of the event.
- The team is responsible for transporting all non-perishable food to HomCo the day of the event. HomCo will transport the food to the food bank after judging.
- Teams will consists of no more than 10 people per team.
Project Construction Criteria:
- Projects will be constructed of non-perishable, packages food products.
- Color will be provided by product labeling. No color or design will be added artificially.
- The size of the projects is limited to 6’ x 6’x 6’ dimensions.
- All food items must be useable and in original condition when disassembled.
- Additional construction materials will be limited to; leveling shims, cardboard, tape, rubber bands, and wire. Items not provided.
- The delivery of food items and materials to the construction site will be the responsibility of the participating team.
- Team must remove materials and stack food items on pallets after judging. HomCo will deliver to food bank.
