Free program “Caring for those Among us with Trauma Histories” July 14

The NAU Family Violence Institute invites you to attend a free COMMUNITY LECTURE BY DR. JON CONTE: “Caring for Those Among Us With Trauma Histories”

This community lecture will explore the exposure or risk of exposure to traumatic events. As human beings we will either be traumatized, love someone who is traumatized or come in contact with someone who has been traumatized. This lecture will discuss what has been learned about trauma exposure over the last 100 years and describe how citizens can care for those who have been traumatized. Dr. Conte will review the concept of a trauma-informed caring community.

Dr. Jon Conte is a professor at the School of Social Work at the University of Washington. His scholarly expertise is on mental health issues related to child abuse and trauma.
