FREE workshop series focusing on Caring for the Kinship Caregiver.
Area Agency on Aging – Northern Arizona Council of Governments, in partnership with CPLC Parenting Arizona, presents a FREE workshop series focusing on Caring for the Kinship Caregiver.
Kinship Care is the raising of children by grandparents, other relatives, or close family friends. In the United States, 2.7 million children are cared for by kinship caregivers. According to a 2003 U.S. Census Bureau report, 2.4 million grandparents had primary responsibility for their co-resident grandchildren younger than 18. Among kinship caregivers, 39 percent of grandparents had cared for their grandchildren for 5 or more years. Attend the workshop for fun, information and support!
