FREDONIA — The Fredonia-Moccasin Unified School District held its annual Back-to-School Night on Tuesday, Aug. 14. More than 70 backpacks were given to students by Flagstaff and Page representatives from the Coconino County Public Health Services District (CCPHSD), which also provided information on dental and health care.

Other participates staffing tables in front of the gymnasium were the Coconino Coalition for Children and Youth and the health districts’s Tobacco and Chronic Disease Prevention Program in Page.

Many of the parents had the opportunity to meet with new superintendent Dr. Howard Hughes, talk with school board members and enjoy the annual chili competition.

FLAGSTAFF — The Coconino County Public Health Services District (CCPHSD) Clinic is providing free backpacks to students that come in for back-to-school immunizations or sports physicals while supplies last.

Appointments are available at the CCPHSD Clinic, 2625 N. King Street, Flagstaff Monday – Friday from 8 – 11 a.m. and noon – 5 p.m. Call 928-679-7222 to make an appointment.

Immunizations and sports physicals are also available on a walk-in basis on Super Service Saturdays, Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

  • Killip Open House, 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15
  • Leupp Open House, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16
  • Summit High School Open House, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 16
  • Flagstaff High School Open House, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20
  • Puente de Hozho Open House, 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20
  • Kinsey Open House, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20
  • Thomas Open House, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20


  • FUSD Indian Education Support Program annual Back-to-school Night, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, Mount Elden Middle School
