Flagstaff youth to put on powwow July 4 in Flagstaff

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Flagstaff Youth Powwow Dance Program is putting on a powwow July 4 at Killip Middle School – a culmination of a nine-month program to build self-esteem and pride in their culture.
The program is a collaboration between Native Americans for Community Action (NACA) and the Circles of Care project, a youth mental health project that believes talking about mental health is okay and helps prepare kids for the future. The Youth Powwow Dance Program grew out of that goal.
