FALA students travel to border to look at immigration, deportation

A group of Flagstaff students studied Arizona-Mexico border issues intensively last month, but not inside the classroom.

They lived and worked for a week right on the border. One day, they visited the Operation Streamline deportation court in Tucson.

“It seemed unreal,” said Abigail Stetson, a junior at Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy. “It was so impersonal, and there is no one advocating on their behalf.”
