Thanks for Your Commitment to Arizona’s Students & Teachers

We are less than a week away from the election, where a highly polarizing presidential race, competitive Senate race, school governing board seats, local bond and override measures, and more will all be decided. At the same time, people continue to grapple with the impacts of the pandemic – socially, emotionally, financially. Not to mention families, students and educators are additionally navigating new in-person, virtual and hybrid learning formats.

As we negotiate these tumultuous times, the work of Expect More Arizona to support an education-first culture and demand equity in education becomes even more essential. We see so much possibility to inform and engage more (and new) voters and communities, and to ensure diverse voices are included as thought partners and decision makers. There is a profound urgency to understand existing achievement gaps, structural barriers to student success, and the short- and long-term implications of this pandemic on education at all levels and to work together to find solutions. The answers won’t be simple, and challenges won’t be solved in one year, but working together we’ll be well on our way. Here is an update on the work Expect More Arizona is doing to help bring people together to make positive change in education.
