Exciting Film Event- Lead up to Kevin Campbell Event

Please join us for this special kick off event! Film Screening of “From Place to Place” featuring Kevin Campbell.  Kevin will be in Flagstaff and Page Oct 17-19 sharing his groundbreaking information.  This film will help set the foundation for this project as well as help inform the work being conducted in our County.  All agencies are highly encouraged to send staff.

September 12, 2017 from noon to 2 pm at McGee Auditorium, Flagstaff Medical Center

  • City of Flagstaff Vice Mayor, Jamie Whelan, will be present to share her personal story of youth connection.

“Kevin Campbell is an internationally known youth permanency expert, founder of the Center for Family Finding and Youth Connectedness and developer of the Family Finding model, a set of strategies now utilized throughout the United States and Canada to establish lifelong supports for youth in foster care.

Kevin also played a major role in the passing of the Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act of 2008, one of the most significant pieces of child welfare legislation in the last 15 years. On September 29th, 2011, President Obama signed the Children and Family Services Improvement and Innovations Act which also included Family Finding as an innovative strategy crucial to improving America’s child welfare system.

Kevin’s work has been featured in dozens of national publications including being twice been featured on CBS’ 60 MINUTES with Lesley Stahl, as well as in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Time Magazine. He is also featured in the award-winning documentary From Place to Place, a film on the realities of aging out of the foster care system. Kevin continues to speak on the issue of youth permanency throughout the United States and Canada and has published numerous articles on the subject.”
