Comment deadline on revamping Common Core standards extended

The Arizona Board of Education is giving the public more time to comment on changes it may make to the state’s Common Core standards.
The board voted in April to reconsider the standards adopted in 2010 and now fully implemented. That vote came after Gov. Doug Ducey called for a review.
A committee has begun reviewing the math and English language arts and literacy standards and is taking public comments.
The new deadline for comments announced on Thursday is Nov. 20.
