College Success Arizona — A simple way to help Arizona students

| December 22, 2020
There’s no denying that 2020 has been a long year, but here at College Success Arizona we were still able to help thousands of students pursue their postsecondary dreams through our services.
In April, we worked with Helios Education Foundation to launch the Arizona Postsecondary Student Resiliency Fund to help support college students who had been impacted by COVID-19. When we had finished distributing the full $500,000 fund amount, we had helped 1,156 low-income and first-generation college students.
In May, our Success Advisers held a virtual graduation to celebrate our graduates who did not get the opportunity to have in-person graduation ceremonies and in August, the advisers welcomed a new cohort of students.
AzCAN also worked hard to progress our mission of increasing access to higher education through its advocacy work and programs AdviseAZ and Project Benjamin.
Benji is now in 123 schools and has nearly 36,000 users and on top of its textbot service, the Project Benji team is working with partners across the state on other projects like the FAFSA Hotline and FAFSA Drive-Ins.
AdviseAZ has served nearly 6,000 students through its General College-Related Assistance, has been implemented in 34 high schools across the state and the near-peer advisers have served a total of 25,900 hours.
We want to continue helping students, but we can’t do that without your support. Consider donating today and because of the CARES Act, this year taxpayers who do not itemize deductions may take a charitable deduction of up to $300 for cash contributions made to qualifying organizations, including CSA.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
