COCONUTS 1.0 is a week long half-day summer program in LEGO NXT Robotics for kids ages 9-13 who will be in 4th-8th grades in the fall
Hosted by the award-winning CocoNuts FIRST Robotics team of Coconino High School!
COCONUTS 1.0: Introduction to LEGO NXT Robots
Dates: July 28 – August 1, 2014
Time: Half Day Session, choose one: Morning (8 am to noon) or Afternoon (1 pm to 5 pm)
Location: Coconino High School Room 708
Cost: $125 per student per session (t-shirt and snacks included)

Campers will learn basic design, programming, and sensor concepts for LEGO Mindstorms Robots while completing daily mini challenges. Sensors explored will include the light, ultrasonic, and bump sensors.
The finale is a FINAL CHALLENGE and mini tournament with multiple missions modeled after the FIRST Lego League. Teams will choose a strategy and design their robot to complete as many missions as possible in 2.5 minutes. Parents, family and friends are invited to this exciting event during the last 2 hours of Friday’s session in the CHS cafeteria!
**Please note, COCONUTS 2.0 will not be offered for the summer of 2014.
