The Spring Equinox was just the other day (March 20), signaling the end of winter. Before you know it, it will be summer which means it’s time to start planning activities for your children. This update is all about the camps Coconino County Parks and Recreation will offer this summer. They have additional multigenerational (adults and kids) programs available on CocoRec, their program registration portal. Outdoor Adventure Summer Day Camp

Now in its 4th year, the Outdoor Adventure Summer Day Camp has become a favorite for parents and kids alike. The emphasis in this camp is on being outdoors, getting dirty, and having fun. They typically go on at least one field trip per day, no additional fees required. Campers must provide lunch, snacks, sun protection, and a positive attitude.

This camp runs Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm and is $140 per week, with the exception of the week of July 5 (due to the 4th of July holiday). Camp begins June 6 and wraps up July 29. More information and registration can be found here. Registration is limited to only 20 participants so register soon!

LEGO Camps

This year Coconino County Parks & Recreation has added a new set of camps, LEGO! There are two camps to choose from, depending on the age of the participant. June 27 – June 30 LEGO camps are all about Minecraft. August 1 – August 4 is your more basic LEGO building camp.

Ages 5 to 7 can enjoy these Play-Well camps from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon, Monday through Thursday. 8 to 12 year olds have camp 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Price for the camp is $150 per week. Registration and more information can be found here.
