Overview
Please join Ottawa University for a day of training intended to revitalize, reinforce prior
learning, introduce new ways of viewing & engaging your supervisees, and enhance your skill set. This training day is divided into three separate yet related parts.
Part I: The Developmental Model of Supervision, Trish Hernandez. While many of us have been exposed to this theory, it was likely at a different developmental stage. The intent of this part of the training is to help participants identify where they are, today, developmentally in contrast to their supervisees and how this may inform the supervisory relationship.
Part II: The Human Side of Supervision, Kevin Jessup. Through discussion, practice, and an active commitment to being involved in this professional experience, participants will examine the following critical topics from an aspirational perspective: leading vs. managing, challenging yourself before developing others, supervising the “pre-seasoned” clinical veteran, and identifying & resolving conflict in the supervision relationship.
Part III: Collaborative Supervision, Dale Hansen. This session will explore the Collaborative Supervision. This model of supervision is strength focused.  Participants will learn how to use Collaborative Supervision to facilitate competency development.
