The Civic Service Institute at Northern Arizona University was awarded funding for a new project, Arizona Ready for College and Career, in which 65 AmeriCorps members will be placed in 7 counties to prepare students for on-time high school graduation and college enrollment.

Member placement will focus on low-income communities and Title 1 schools in Arizona whose on-time high school graduation rates are lower than the national average of 81.4%.

This is your opportunity to get involved in this project by becoming a mentor site and helping to boost the college-going rates in your community.  With an investment of $4,500 your organization can host a part-time AmeriCorps member, or $8,500 for a full time member.
Find out more about this exciting opportunity by attending an info session on Tuesday, July 19 from 10:30 am – 11:30 am at the College Depot at Burton Barr Library in downtown Phoenix, 1221 N. Central Ave.  Additional info sessions will be held in Flagstaff, Lake Havasu City and online.
