His efforts to help communities in need have taken him to the far reaches of Mongolia and brought him right back to Coconino County to help families and communities throughout the region.

Peter Van Wyck serves as the Regional Director for First Things First, which partners with families and communities throughout Arizona to support the healthy development of young children, including serving the Hopi, Havasupai and the Kaibab Band of Paiute people, as well as others in the Coconino region.

“Each of the communities in this region has different histories, cultures, needs and assets, all of which need to be adequately understood and incorporated into our work,” Van Wyck said in a 2017 article in the Arizona Daily Sun, which selected him as one of the 2017 group of 20 individuals under 40 years of age who have made and continue to make significant contributions to Flagstaff through work and service.

The honor was presented by the Arizona Daily Sun, the Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce, Twin Arrows Casino Resort and Mercedes-Benz of Flagstaff.

We are proud to have Peter Van Wyck serving as President of the Board of Directors and President of the Executive Committee of the Board of the Coconino Coalition for Children & Youth.

“Serving on the CCC&Y Board allows me to have a direct, tangible impact on children throughout Coconino. With CCC&Y we can strengthen and develop our community while also improving the lives of our youth and their families.”
