CCC president accepts new position in Colorado

FLAGSTAFF — Coconino Community College District Governing Board Chairman Patricia Garcia announced today that Dr. Leah L. Bornstein has accepted the position of President at Aims Community College in Greeley, Colo.

Dr. Bornstein, appointed in 2007, has served as the fifth president of Coconino Community College. Her legacy includes pioneering several programs that have earned the college national recognition. Among these programs was the creation of a three-year strategic and tactical plan that implemented more than 300 initiatives with more than a 90 percent completion rate.

Her legacy also includes a sustainable financial plan and an award-winning national and state community college/university partnership model, called CCC2NAU, which eliminates transfer and assists students with a seamless transition into Northern Arizona University. She also initiated several additional collaborations with NAU, including the library merger and a reverse transfer program.
