The Flagstaff Family Food Center is providing a Summer Reading Enrichment Program from noon through 1:30 p.m. through July 3 at the Flagstaff Family Food Center Kitchen, 1903 N. 2nd St.

Children can pick up a Reading bag daily, which will include a book, snack bag, sweet treats, daily activity materials, ingredients for a healthy snack activity, library resources, a virtual experience list, and a mindfulness activity. Children will receive 1 raffle ticket per day of attendance to win a new bike! *No contact distribution

AzCAN — Keeping a Financial Aid Focus in AZ

Summer is upon us, and Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) rates across Arizona – and other parts of the country – continue to decline.  With all the bread baking, TikToking, and puzzling happening right now, it’s critical that FAFSAing gets added to the list of quarantine activities. 

According to the Arizona FAFSA Tracker, on March 13, Arizona’s class of 2020 had a 3.2% increase in FAFSA completion numbers over the class of 2019. Arizona was making gains, in large part due to the concentrated efforts at the school, local and state level.

Student instructions and worksheets

And a design challenge to apply new concepts

Congratulations to the CSA 2020 Spring graduates! There are few times in life that are as exciting and rewarding as graduating from college. Usually this time is met with a world full of thrilling opportunities, but for our 2020 graduates, they are met by a world facing a global pandemic.

However, the world is still full of endless possibilities. Last night, we celebrated our graduates and their success with a virtual graduation ceremony.

The team at College Success Arizona is extremely proud of what all of our students have accomplished over these past few years. We are looking forward to what this incredible group of individuals will accomplish in the future.

Expect More Arizona — We want to hear from teachers

Expect More Arizona is working with the State Board of Education to gather information from Arizona teachers about the transition from in-person to distance learning. 

We want to hear more about what worked well and what didn’t work at all, what support teachers need, how or if students were engaged, what teachers would do differently should distance learning be needed in the future, and what steps should be taken to help teachers feel safe returning to the classroom next school year.
