CASA Volunteers Needed

Be the voice for a child in foster care!

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) volunteers are needed in your community! Every year, thousands of Arizona children are removed from their homes because their families are in crisis for various reasons- violence, substance abuse, neglect – name only a few. Many of these children, age’s birth to 18, find themselves lost in the overburdened child welfare system moving from one temporary placement to another.
That is where you step in by becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer. CASA volunteers are fully background checked, trained and appointed by a judge to advocate for these children, look out for their best interest, monitor their progress and address their needs. A national study found that children with a CASA volunteer assigned to their case are:

  • More likely to receive needed services and resources
  • Are twice as likely to find a safe, permanent home
  • Half as likely to return to the foster care system
