Attorney General says parents can’t keep kids from tests

A new legal opinion says Arizona parents don’t have a right to withdraw their children from standardized tests given at public schools.
The opinion issued Friday by Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich says state parental rights laws don’t contain exemptions for testing.
State law requires a comprehensive testing system to be in place in schools and it’s not a learning activity included in laws giving parents opt-outs.
