Arizona Ready for College and Career seeking mentor site, student referrals

| December 14, 2016

College and Career Readiness Assistance is on the Way!

The Civic Service Institute at Northern Arizona University was awarded funding for a new project, Arizona Ready for College and Career, in which 65 AmeriCorps members will be placed in 7 counties to prepare students for on-time high school graduation and
college enrollment.  Member placement will focus on low-income communities and Title 1 schools in Arizona whose on-time high school graduation rates are lower than the national average of 81.4%.

Become a Mentor Site or Refer Your Students

This is your opportunity to get involved in this project by becoming a mentor site and helping to boost the college-going rates in your community.  With an investment of $4,500 your organization can host a part-time AmeriCorps member, or $2,750 for a quarter-time member.

Refer your Program Graduates & Participants

Whether you plan to become a partner site and invite your program participants to apply or just want to refer some of your graduates there are several opportunities for the students you have been working with. AmeriCorps members gain valuable work experience, earn a living stipend as well as an education award. There are currently several positions open for the Spring 2017.

Find out more about these exciting opportunities by contacting the ARCC Program Coordinator, Rosemary Liversedge. See the ARCC Spring Partner Site Application. Closes 12/28 at midnight.
