Arizona Out-of-School Time Programs Are Invited to Apply for the AzCASE STEM Mini-Grants

Arizona Center for Afterschool Excellence (AzCASE) and Cox Communications have partnered to provide Arizona out-of-school time programs with mini-grants for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) projects. Programs are encouraged to work with staff and youth to come up with creative, new ways to incorporate STEM into out-of-school time programming. Grants ranging from $500 to $1,500 will be funded based on the quality and impact of the proposed projects.

Research shows American students lag behind their international peers in STEM fields despite the global need for innovation and mastery in those areas. Quality out-of-school time programs are experiential, learning environments that have more creative latitude to introduce youth to engaging STEM concepts than many classroom settings. The opportunities are endless – programs are only limited by their collective imaginations!

Programs serving K-12 youth afterschool, before school, during summer and on school breaks are eligible to apply.

Deadline to apply is Friday, September 12, 2014.
