State education officials will submit a roughly $21 million budget request to a Arizona House and Senate committees this week.
If approved, about 84 percent of the money would go toward information technology.
The presentation will emphasize the potential impact of not funding IT, which processes billions of dollars a year and secures student data.
Gov. Doug Ducey’s original budget included zero dollars for system maintenance or development. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Diane Douglas has called it a “massive oversight.”
