Arizona education leaders are another step closer to finalizing the state’s plan to implement the Every Student Succeeds Act. The federal law gives the state more power to determine which schools are under performing and hold them accountable.
The Arizona Department of Education released the second draft of the state plan this week. Plan revisions were based on public and stakeholder feedback.
Alexis Susdorf, spokeswoman with the Arizona Department of Education, said stakeholders’ biggest concerns from the first draft surrounded the lack of details about the rollout the federal policy that replaced the No Child Left Behind law.
